Tweener, what a nick name! A soul whos searching for some safty, protection, and warmness, squeezed between the rulers and the prisoners. So, tweener, the soft sugar in between. I wont blame he for betraying Micheal by telling Bellick that they are escaping coz he would rather choose to die or live in prison(Bellick would have tortured him to death in many ways), there are not many options for him!

He knows what is right and what is wrong, he will choose not to betray his bros if there are choices. And there are choices, indeed, he can betray Micheal again for freedom when there is an offer from the FBI Mahone. But he didnt take it, he valued royalty the most next to his life, he knows as long as he can live, he wont betray anyone again, even though he know he has to spend the rest of his life in Fox River!

 

Even though he died at the end, he died with his faith! A guy who should receive my respect. I like u, Tweener!

 

This is a true story on running, father, son, love, determination and 'can', which has been made as a TV documentary and written down as a book. For the past twenty five years or more Dick, who is 65, has pushed and pulled his son across the country and over hundreds of finish lines. When Dick runs, Rick is in a wheelchair that Dick is pushing. When Dick cycles, Rick is in the seat-pod from his wheelchair, attached to the front of the bike. When Dick swims, Rick is in a small but heavy, firmly stabilized boat being pulled by Dick.

'How do you define a father?'--It's simple. You take the picture of Dick Hoyt and put it in the dictionary and let the rest of the world follow his lead. When he was told by the doctor to put his son Rick into the institution, he refused. Instead, Dick and Rick have spent their lifetimes together travelling the world and inspiring everyone they meet. Father of the century? No doubt about it!

Dick 告诉我，在孩子9个月大时，大夫告知他和他的妻子 Judy，“他将来会一直是个植物人”。大夫建议他们，“把他送到看护中心吧”。

但是 Hoyt 两口子并不认命。他们注意到孩子的眼珠会随着他们的移动而转动。Rick 11岁的时候，夫妇俩带着儿子去 Tufts 大学的工程系，看看有没有什么办法能帮助小家伙交流。“没辙”，“这孩子的脑子根本就是空的”，Dick 说他被这样回绝。

Dick 回道，“给他说个笑话”。学校的人说了一个笑话。听罢，Rick 脸上露出了笑容。这说明，孩子的脑子里满满的。

随后 Rick 被装备上了一台特制的电脑，电脑让他可以通过碰触安装在头旁边上的开关控制电脑游标。这下子，Rick 终于可以“开口”说话了。第一句话是什么？"Go Bruins." (The Boston Bruins were in the Stanley Cup finals that season, and his family realized he had been following the hockey games along with everyone else.)后来，当 Rick 看到他的高中同学在一次事故中瘫痪，学校要为他组织慈善跑步时。他打字告诉他父亲，“爸爸，我想要参加”。

不错，说的容易。但是自称“胖子”的 Dick，一个从未尝试跑过超出1英里（合1.5公里）的人，如何把他的儿子推着跑完5英里呢？不管如何，他做了。Dick 回忆道，“那次，我觉得反而是我残疾了。回来之后，足足疼了两个星期”。

那天改变了 Rick 的生命。“爸，当我们跑步的时候，我觉得我不再是残疾人了！”

一句话改变了 Dick 的一生。他全力以赴地让孩子能感觉到自己是健全人。Dick 练出了一身肌肉，好让他和儿子能参加1979年的波士顿马拉松赛。

比赛主办者告诉 Dick，“没门”。父子俩不能算一个跑步者，也不能归到轮椅参赛者那一类。之后几年里，Dick 和 Rick 只能加入一些大众性质的跑步活动。直到1983年他们跑的一个马拉松的成绩很好，达到了参加来年的波士顿比赛的要求。这让他们从此得以正式地参加比赛。

后来，有人问道，“嘿，Dick，你为什么不试试铁人三项呢？”

一个人从没学过游泳，自从六岁起就没有骑过自行车，怎么可能带他的110磅重的儿子完成铁人三项呢？不管如何，Dick 做了。

到现在为止，他们一共参加了212次铁人三项，其中包括4次在夏威夷的极为艰难的15小时铁人比赛。一个老人拖着橡皮艇中的成年人完成这项赛事，就算是25岁的壮小伙都是相当不容易，你说呢？

“嘿，Dick，为什么不看看你自己一个人完成比赛的成绩会是多少？”“不”，Dick 一口回绝。父亲去参加马拉松，去学习游泳参加铁人三项，去学习爬山，去学习滑冰……为了什么？只为了看到儿子那灿烂一笑时，心中荡起的阵阵深情。

这一年，Dick 65 岁，Rick 43 岁。他们完成了第24次波士顿马拉松赛，在 20000 多名参赛者中排名第 5083。他们的最好成绩？2小时40分钟，1992年。这个成绩仅仅落后世界纪录35分钟。你不了解的是，世界纪录的保持者在比赛的时候并没有在推着轮椅。

“毫无疑问，” Rick 打字道，“我爸爸是本世纪最好的父亲”。

同时，Dick 也因此而受益。两年前，他在一次比赛的时候有轻度的心脏病发作。医生发现他的一条主动脉已经有95％阻塞住了。“如果你没有保持这样的好体格的话”，有个医生告诉他，“搞不好你15年前就去了”。 

因而，以某种方式，Dick 和 Rick 救了对方一命。

Rick 现在有自己的公寓（他现在接受家庭护理），在波士顿工作。而 Dick 退伍，住在麻省荷兰市。他俩经常聚在一起，在各地做讲演，每个周末参加一些累死人的比赛，当然，也包括父亲节。

那天晚上，Rick 请他爸爸吃晚饭。但是他真正想送给他父亲的礼物是花钱买不到的。

Rick 打字道，“我最想要的是让我爸坐在轮椅里面，我也能推他一次”。
